Feb. 20th, 2015

Welcome to Late-February Friday!

It has to warm up soon, right? One more month until Spring!

Links time!

» SampleStitch

A hip-hop sample reconstruction soundboard / game.
At least to me it kind of feels like a bit of a game. You’re trying to re-build the sound of certain beats and samples from iconic hip-hop artists and producers.
This is hours of fun.

» Chinatown

“Chinatown is a Chinese translation of the trademarks in a graphical way. It’s a carefully arranged series of artworks showcasing 20 well-known western brand logos with maintained visual and narrative continuity.”
I’m sensing a quasi-Blade-Runner motif here. It looks great, I’m just uncertain what the motivation was.

» Daft Punk Harder Faster SoundBoard

Pretty self explanatory, and endlessly fun to play with.

» Zombie Typocalypse

Zombie pops up, you type the word beside them, you kill the zombie.
A frantic, goofy little game. (And more cartoonish than scary.)

» Matthew Grabelsky: Works

Grabelsky’s “Anomaly” series depicts fabled creatures like satyrs or yetis in a modern setting, doing things like riding the subway.
It’s a bit of a crazy series but I like the “serious art” look of it.
Great work.

Happy Friday everybody. Thanks for joining me.
