Happy Friday!

Just a note to say that online scams are extremely rampant this year. Please take a moment during the holidays to inform your family and loved ones about how to protect themselves from getting ripped off this season.

Seriously it’s beyond anything I’ve seen in previous years. That’s because the scams were most likely successful in the past.

With that said: Here are your Friday Links!

Mr. Houha makes beautiful, intricate models that are flat packed for you to build yourself at home.

These are beautiful.

Graph TV

Graph TV

Enter a TV show title and this tool will graph the ratings of every episode based on ratings data from IMDB.

This is a genius idea!

I notice it doesn’t catch several Netflix shows, so it may skew more towards traditional broadcasters. Still! Great idea.

Looking Glass Factory: Holoplayer One

Looking Glass Factory: Holoplayer One

A software and hardware suite for creating, lighting, and interacting with 3D holograms.

This feels very futuristic. Really well done.

Click to jump, click and hold to jump higher. Avoid rotating saws. Go!

Surrrrre you can. This frustrating game is like Flappy Bird but… now with rotating saws.

Celebrity Perv Apology Generator

Celebrity Perv Apology Generator

This is where we are, in 2017.

In light of this horrible string of sexual assaults coming to light (at last,) here’s a semi-handy tool for “not all men”.

It’s not funny. None of this is funny. But if this shines even more of a light on the ongoing sexual assaults being uncovered on a daily basis: good.

(Also: when will someone build the Trump Russia Denial Generator?)

I hope your Friday is excellent. And for my American friends, I hope your thanksgiving was full of food, and decidedly not full of political discomfort.

See you next week!

These are delightful.

These photos of humpback whales in Tonga are gorgeous.

Prints are available for purchase.

Try. Die. Repeat.

Try. Die. Repeat.

You basically have to use the dead bodies of your previous attempts to complete sections of the levels.

Morbid but cool.

Make Trump Tweets Eight Again!!

“We made a browser extension that converts Trump’s Tweets into their rightful state: a child’s scribble.”

Created by The Daily Show. I think this may actually be an essential browser extension in 2017. (And beyond?)

Happy Friday!

And where I live, it’s definitely Autumn weather.

Let’s look at some cool links…

Levon Biss

Levon Biss

Mr. Biss is a photographer who specializes in, among other topics, high resolution macro photography of arthropods. (Insects. Bugs. Creepycrawlies.)

His work is astonishingly vibrant.

He’s featured in a new book titled “Micro Sculpture” which is out now. Beautiful work.

Re:Scam

Re:Scam

“I’m an artificially intelligent email bot, made to reply to scam emails.”

Did you receive yet another (!) Nigerian scam message? Forward it to me@rescam.org and an A.I. will engage with the scammer for a lengthy back and forth that leads nowhere.

They feature some examples and claim it’s been somewhat effective.

Not a bad idea!

Andrew Waits: Boom City

A selection of fireworks photographed in cross-section.

Kind of beautiful.

Pomg

Pomg

It’s Pong, but you play as the actual ball, trying to get into the goal of one of the paddles. You hit the spacebar as often as possible to change the angle the ball goes in. It is challenging! I loved it though.

Russian nobility portraits from the 1890s through the 1910s, colourized by “Klimbim”.

I’m loving the advances in custom photo colourization in the past several years. They look amazing.

“These are some of the harrowing scenes out of Syria, where conflict and civil war over the past six years have cost millions of people their homes, livelihoods, and, for many, their lives.”

In a suitcase, as a diorama.

These are (predictably) heartbreaking.
