Welcome to mid-September Friday!
September. Already nearly done. So fast.
But! It’s Friday! And look: I found these links!
Mario Unger restores and carefully colourizes old photographs. His work is really incredible. A photo from 1900 can look like it was taken this week.
So good.
A ton of pretty iconic props are going on the auction block next week. I love perusing some of these. Costumes and models from Aliens! Indiana Jones’s hat! The teddy bear from A.I.! Some cool stuff here (if you can afford it, of course.)
“At some point in college, I found myself at the Tweed New Haven airport at an odd hour, and decided to try my hand at walking downtown rather than taking a cab. I found that it was surprisingly pleasant, and the distance was not outlandish.”
A well-documented listing of walking routes to several US airports.
I live in Toronto. This takes 5 hours. And people have done it! (e.g.: this)
Tetris, but with gravity, friction, and collisions.
I find it impossible, and also hilarious.
You can buy prints at his website.
Perfect for any of your OCD friends. ๐
And that’s that.
I hope your weekend is amazing, and dry, and safe, and warm, and lovely.
